 Campout Grub Master & Chef

During Campouts, Adult Scouters behave and work as a patrol, setting an example for the scouts.

The Campout Grub Master & Chef ensures everyone in the patrol, including adults, enjoys tasty and nutritious meals during camping trips. 

Their key responsibilities include:

  • Menu Planning: Plan balanced meals considering dietary needs.
  • Grocery Shopping: Purchase all necessary ingredients.
  • Cooking: Prepare meals using various outdoor cooking methods.
  • Delegation: Assign tasks to patrol members and adults.
  • Food Safety: Follow proper food handling and storage practices. Review the food restrictions and special food accommodations to make sure every adult has an option for some food.
  • Cleanup: Oversee the cleanup process after each meal.

By fulfilling these duties, the Grub Master & Chef ensures a memorable and enjoyable camping experience with great food!

 

 Campout Medic
  1. Confer with the Troop health and safety coordinator to identify Scouts and adults who lack current BSA medical records, and notify them. Prior to your Friday departure to the campsite, the Troop health and safety coordinator should provide you with a portfolio containing a copy of the medical record for each Scout and adult participating in the campout. 
  2. Review and Retain these records for the weekend, and return the portfolio to the Troop health and safety coordinator following the campout.
  3. Identify the participation restrictions, allergies, special accomodations, and medication list for everyone attending the campout. 
  4. Review the Trailer and Portable FirstAid Kits for accuracy and to make sure all listed item are present in the kit.
  5. Depending upon the program or activity for the campout, you will need to ensure that adult leaders have completed additional BSA training, such as Climb-on-Safely for campouts or day outings involving climbing and rappelling
 Campout Trailer Driver
  • Transport troop trailer to/from campsite.
  • Ensure trailer is safely loaded and secured.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on the trailer.
 Extra driver to transport scouts to/from campsite
  • When needed, become available and provide additional transportation for scouts to/from campsite.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with transportation guidelines.
  • Coordinate with other drivers for efficient travel plans.
 Court of Honor Food Coordinator

Coordinator for all Court of Honors (Fall and Spring).  Duties:

  • Coordinates the Troop Courts of Honor (COH).
  • Works with the SM, and Committee Chair to put together the COH logistics, such as drinks and cookies, pot luck, etc.
  • Coordinates food requirements for Troop Courts of Honor.
  • Review the food restrictions and special food accomodations to make sure every scout has an option of some food.
  • Coordinate setup, serving, and cleanup.
 Fire House Volunteer Coordinator
  • Liaise with the firehouse for volunteer opportunities.
  • Schedule and manage volunteer shifts.
  • Ensure scouts are briefed on safety and responsibilities.
 Food Coordinator for Scouts Holiday Troop Meeting
  • Plan and organize holiday-themed meals.
  • Purchase and prepare food items.
  • Review the food restrictions and special food accomodations to make sure every scout has an option of some food.
  • Coordinate setup, serving, and cleanup.
 GCM House Service Project Logistics and Food Coordinator
  • Plan logistics for the service project at GCM House.
  • Organize and provide snacks for volunteers.
  • Review the food restrictions and special food accomodations to make sure every scout has an option of some food.
  • Ensure all necessary supplies are available.
 ILST Food Coordinator
  • Review the food restrictions and special food accommodations to make sure every scout has an option for some food.
  • Plan and organize meals for ILST training.
  • Purchase and prepare food items.
  • Coordinate setup, serving, and cleanup.
 Merit Badge Counselor 

Merit Badge Counselors are subject matter experts for the Merit Badges they counsel either through vocation or hobby.

  • Provide guidance and instruction for Eagle-required merit badges.
  • Review and approve completed requirements.
  • Offer support and resources to scouts.
  • Take Merit Badge Counselor Training. 
  • Submit Merit Badge Registration Paperwork to the district/council office. 
  • Inform the Advancement Coordinator and Web Master of registration as a Merit Badge Counselor. 
  • Conduct all Merit Badge classes and counseling within published BSA guidelines. This includes Youth Protection Training and the Guide to Safe Scouting. 
  • Whenever a Merit Badge Counselor is counseling their own son for a merit badge, the Scoutmaster must pre-approve such an arrangement and other Scouts must also be included in the merit badge sessions. 
 Merit Badge Counselor for Campout

It is the same as Merit Badge Counselor plus attends the campout to provide guidance and instruction at the required campouts.

 Pinewood Derby Coordinator with Scout Packs
  • Coordinate with scout packs for participation.
  • Organize and oversee what support the Cub Scout Packs need at Pinewood Derby events.
  • Ensure Scouts present are compliance with rules and regulations.
 Records Coordinator to make sure scout SM Conference, BoR, and records are up to date
  • Maintain accurate records of scout achievements.
  • Ensure SM Conference and BoR are scheduled and documented.
  • Update troop records regularly.
 Scouting for Food Coordinator
  • Plan and organize the Scouting for Food drive with/out Cub Scout Packs.
  • Coordinate collection and distribution of donations.
  • Communicate with local food banks and organizations.
 Scouting for Food Drivers
  • Provide transportation during flyer distribution and pick up food donations.
  • Ensure the safety of scouts and timely delivery to designated locations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading donations.
 Summer Camp Merit Badge Signup Coordinator
  • Plan and organize summer camp Merit Badges for scouts.
  • Publish the list of MBs offered by the Summer Camp.
  • Register scouts to their choice of MBs and support scouts to make changes to their MB signup for the Summer Camp.
  • Coordinate transportation, registration, and activities.
  • Ensure scouts have necessary gear and information for their Merit Badges.
  • Ensure scouts are aware and remind them to complete their MB pre-requisites.
 Summer time Outdoor Troop Meeting Facility Coordinator
  • Secure and manage outdoor meeting locations.
  • Coordinate setup and cleanup of facilities.
  • Ensure facilities meet troop needs.
 Cub Scout Pack Blue & Gold Logistics Coordinator
  • Plan and organize necessary Troop Participation at Blue & Gold events.
  • Coordinate with pack leaders for event details.
  • Ensure smooth execution of event activities and cross over.
  • Ensure required supplies are available for scouts to execute a smoother cross over.
 Pack Bridging Ceremony Logistics Coordinator
  • Plan and organize logistics for Troop when Troop scouts are attending a Cub Scout Pack's bridging ceremonies.
  • Coordinate with pack leaders for event details.
  • Ensure supplies are available for troop scouts to execute a smooth ceremony activities.
 Volunteer Signup Day Coordinator
  • Organize and manage volunteer signup events.
  • Plans for family night programs and family activities.
  • Communicate volunteer opportunities to parents.
  • Ensure all volunteer roles are filled.
  • Review the food restrictions and special food accomodations to make sure every attendee has an option of some food.
 Webelos-ree Adult Food Coordinator
  • Plan and organize meals for Webelos-ree events.
  • Review the food restrictions and special food accomodations to make sure every scout has an option of some food.
  • Purchase and prepare food items.
  • Coordinate setup, serving, and cleanup.
 Wimporee - Facility Reservation/Coordination
  • Secure and manage reservations for Wimporee facilities.
  • Coordinate setup and cleanup of facilities.
  • Ensure facilities meet troop needs.
 Wimporee - Food and Supplies Coordinator
  • Plan and organize food and supplies for Wimporee.
  • Review the food restrictions and special food accomodations to make sure every scout has an option of some food.
  • Purchase and prepare food items.
  • Coordinate distribution and management of supplies.
